Konrad J. Walter
Konrad J. Walter has over 40 years’ experience in the aircraft and engine maintenance, sales and leasing industry. In his early career he used his A&P license to learn the business from the ground up as a service technician for several Miami area service companies and Eastern Airlines. He progressed to management responsibilities at Greenwich Air Service and GE Engine Service. His entrepreneurial spirit then led him to be the founding partner and President of Patriot Aviation Services in 1998. This was followed in 2002 by being the founding partner and President of “CTS” Complete Turbine Service. Under his guidance this company quickly developed a worldwide reputation as a cost effective, quality organization for Field Service and Hospital Repairs of large commercial jet engines. Konrad sold his interest in the company in 2010 and assisted the new owner in developing a world class, full service engine MRO organization now known as CTS Engines where he served as President and COO.
Konrad has since founded “TAF” Taking Aviation Forward, LLC, as the President and CEO which has fostered several Aviation and Industrial related businesses and partnerships alike.
TAF as of July 2015 acquired a partnering interest in “ASI” Aeronautical Support International out of Boca Raton, Fl. ASI has been serving the parts requirements of Airlines and Suppliers since 1980. ASI is a FAA AC-0056A approved vendor with TAC-2000 certification, and ITAR- registered as a government contractor. Their mission is to maintain strong industry relationships and provide our customers with material in a timely manner.
TAF in July of 2016 co-founded “TMS” Turbine Management Solutions, LLC (TMS). TMS is a full service aircraft engine solutions provider with worldwide alliances around the globe. Its power plant engineering consultants provide timely, cost-saving “solutions” to turbine engine and aircraft operators worldwide.
TAF in March of 2017 acquired a partnering interest in a Military parts support and distribution company now known as RESION, LLC. RESION is an industry-leading supply chain solution provider and the largest stocking distributor of military and high reliability, mission-critical components. RESION provides supply chain management in the military, aerospace and defense industries with reliable product solutions. They offer their customers the latest generation of technologies and counterfeit mitigation program audited by government agencies and tier one defense contractors. RESION is a CCAP, AS6081 and Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime’s Qualified Suppliers List of Distributors (QSLD), Qualified Testing Suppliers List (QTSL) programs.
TAF in December of 2017 acquired an interest in AP&M a Worldwide Stocking Distributor of Industrial Gas Turbine Parts. It is one of the largest worldwide independent stocking distributors of both heavy-duty and aero-derivative gas turbine parts. They aim to be an integral part of our clients operations, as well as a reliable partner in quickly delivering genuine OEM parts for operators, end-users, depots and repair facilities around the world.
Konrad continues to give freely of his personal time to many aviation related and educational organizations. He is Past President and current member of the Board of Directors of the Greater Miami Aviation Association (GMAA) which was founded in 1927. Serves as Chairman of the Broward College Aviation Advisory Committee. He is also involved with ISTAT, and currently serves on the ISTAT Scholarship Foundation Committee & serving as South Florida’s Scholarship Ambassador. Konrad has received several honored awards throughout his career such as the GMAA’s prestigious Corporate Achievement Award for “outstanding contributions to Florida and the Aviation Industry.”
